Steve Royle, Tom Wrigglesworth, David Eagle and MC Alex Boardman will be bringing the laughs to Copmanthorpe Carnival 

  Described as a “a brilliant comedian” by none other than Peter Kay, Steve Royle has had a career that has spanned everything from the Royal Variety Performance, to Phoenix Nights to coming third on Britain’s Got Talent. A first rate comedy act with unashamed vaudevillian echoes.

 Probably now best known for his numerous Radio 4 series, Sheffield’s Tom Wrigglesworth has brought mirth to the masses as far away as New Zealand whilst picking up plaudits and prestigious awards on the way.

The accordion wielding David Eagle is the relative newcomer of the bunch but has won the title of Best New Act at respected comedy festivals across the land and counts Reginald D Hunter amongst his ever growing band of fans.

Your host for the evening is Alex Boardman. Alex cut his comedic teeth on the burgeoning Manchester scene with sets at the Frog & Bucket often followed by an all nighters at The Hacienda. Family life may have tempered the inner wild child but it’s certainly added to both the maturity and the relatability of his stand up. A gifted gag smith, Alex writes for a lot of big names and TV shows including John Bishop, A Question Of Sport and many we’re not allowed to say!
