Glossop Comedy Club

Glossop Comedy Club returns in August with Hal Cruttenden (Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You. Would I Lie To You? etc) and Paul Sinha (Taskmaster, The News Quiz, The Now Show, The Chase etc) previewing their brand new, full length shows at the Crystal Ballroom, Glossop. Scroll down for comedians’ details.

Acts subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary, swearing. We want everyone to have a great night so please pop your phone on silent and don’t chat whilst the show is in progress. Thanks! Sorry, but we can only reallocate or refund if the show is cancelled.

One of comedy’s more original thinkers, Midlands based Eric Rushton is a former Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year and won of the first ever Channel 4 Sean Lock Award in 2023;

‘They gave me a bunch of money and a bunch of prestige for that and I have a lot of anxiety that I didn’t capitalise on that success.’

We can’t help but feel Eric may be being a little harsh on himself here as he has since appeared on ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show and BBC3’s Such Brave Girls which will be aired in 2025. A gifted writer, Eric’s credits include The Last Leg, Late Night Lycett as well as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Eric is currently on a sold-out tour with his latest show, The Real One, after a critically-acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

‘Will captivate you and have you doubling over in equal measure’ ★★★★ Entertainment Now
‘Every generation needs joke writers like him’ ★★★★ Chortle
★★★★ Fest Mag ★★★★ The Skinny ★★★★ The Scotsman

Jamie Hutchinson‘s horrible dating past, humiliating anecdotes, and perpetual singledom may sound more suited to a counselling session but, in the hands of this naturally funny craftsman make for a painfully funny set. Manc, ginger and proud, brace yourself for a full frontal comedic assault when Jamie pulls the mic form the stand. One liners, puns, pulling faces, uncanny characterisations and clowning are all utilised as deadly weapons in Jamie’s one man war on the mundane.

 ‘Absolutely hilarious’ Seann Walsh ‘Rising star’ The Sun ‘Simply phenomenal’ Notts Comedy Review

As cheeky as he is versatile, Stevie Gray combines jokes, music, news stories and audience participation to create an up-tempo energy in any room. Time and again, audiences are left beaming from his fantastic comedy, genuine warmth and natural joy.

“Like watching sunshine” Notts Comedy Review

Manchester’s Tabish Akbar takes the middle spot. The comedians you see at Glossop Comedy Club are booked by Comedy In A Van
