SUMMARY:Comedy @ Angel Inn\, Dukinfield
DESCRIPTION:Steve Gribbin\, Rob Rouse\, Jacob Nussey\, MC Rob Riley at the Angel Inn\, Dukinfield! Scroll down for comedians’ details\n\nActs subject to change. Advanced swearing. Fully seated. 18+ We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. Thanks!\n\nSteve Gribbin first took to the stage at the tender age of 13. He was cruelly beaten into third place by a ventriloquist and a Donny Osmond impersonator. You can’t keep a good man down though and Steve’s love of making people laugh rivals that of his affections for Liverpool FC and Elvis Costello.  Steve puts absolutely everything he has got into every single gig he does. Sweat drips as he hammers out short\, sharp satirical songs that strike chords throughout the room. If it’s in the news\, he’s written something rapturously funny about it\, slaughtering sacred cows with deft musicianship and crowd slaying wit. No one can count themselves as a true comedy fan until they have seen Steve Gribbin. A bulletproof booking\, whether it’s Glastonbury or The Comedy Store\, Steve will more than do the job and we are proud to call ourselves fans.\n\n‘A highly refreshing and original comic. Please scroll down for comedians’ details. \nActs subject to change. Proper sweary\, swearing. swearing. Fully seated. 18+ We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. Sorry\, but we can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. \nThanks \nJoey Page was something of a cult comic\, a hit at comedy festivals around the globe and popped up on Never Mind The Buzzcocks in it’s BBC 2 days. Now\, there’s little better for a performer’s ego and reputation than being a cult but it can be tricky to pay those bills. Joey spent lockdown working on something more accessible and has struck the perfect pitch between ‘old’ Joey’s niche appeal and the instant\, big laughs modern audiences expect. A stunningly original funnyman at the height of his game. \n“Laugh-out-loud” ★★★★ Australia Times ★★★★★ Three Weeks \nNaturally effusive and full of giddy joy\, Birmingham’s Lindsey Santoro has emerged as one of the most original female voices to come out of the West Midlands and is one of the best hidden gems on the comedy circuit. \nCredits include Channel 4’s The Joy of Missing Out\, BBC Radio 4’s Elephant in the Room with Sarah Millican\, and soon to be seen on Comedy Central Live. Recently Lindsey has been seen supporting Russell Kane and Joe Lycett on tour. \nDublin’s Kieran Lawless has worked in comedy clubs across Ireland and the UK including supporting Patrick Kielty in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre. He has appeared on RTE television twice and has scooped a number of New Comedian awards. \n“Exceedingly entertaining\, highly energised and side splittingly funny” northwestend.co.uk \nHarry Stachini used to teach kids. Naughty kids. As in really\, really naughty kids and\, if you can make a success of that how difficult is a career as a stand up comedian? This natural comic\, still of comparatively few summers\, allows his natural warmth to carry hilarious tales and intricately spun stories with a skill usually only present in much more experienced comics. \nHarry’s a grafter and his solid work ethic and reputation amongst both audiences and promoters make him the comedian to watch out for in the next year or so! An impressive easy-going style pulls off stand ups oldest trick of leaving us feeling we are chatting to a mate as he shares his distinctive outlook on the world\, involves the audience and skilfully leads us into well-crafted scenarios\, with expert delivery. \nWhen not making people laugh like drains Harry writes\, acts and films short sketches and documentaries. \n“Well observed characterisations and anecdotes” The Skinny    “Audience in stitches with gags” Bedfordshire News \nThe comedians you see at Comedy @ The Lion & Swan\, Congleton are booked by Comedy In A Van.

We want everyone to have a great night so please pop your phone on silent and don’t chat whilst the show is in progress. Thanks! Sorry\, but we can only reallocate or refund if the show is cancelled. \nScott Bennett owes a certain amount of his success to Covid! As lockdown decimated the UK entertainment industry Scott refused to cave in and Stand Up From The Shed was born. Every week\, Scott wrote and performed a topical comedy show that was live streamed from (you guessed it) his garden shed! This was quickly picked up by BBC News\, Sky News and Five Live\, further increasing Scott’s fanbase.\n \nThe return to normality has been even better for Scott. He made his debut appearance on BBC’s Live At The Apollo\, numerous appearances on Radio 4\, toured with John Bishop and won the coveted Best UK Stand Up 2021 award! 2022 saw Scott’s latest tour show ‘Great Scott’ take to the roads of the United Kingdom. \n“A very funny man” Rob Brydon ★★★★ Chortle  ★★★★ TV Bomb\n \nStephen Bailey\, (Live at the Apollo\, Celebrity Mastermind\, Takeshi’s Castle etc). Thanks \nStrolling onto stage like a missing Gallagher brother\, Oxfordshire’s Matt Bragg first picked up a mic in 2015 and quickly found his distinctive style. Matt’s ultra laid back delivery makes everything look oh so easy and his timing utilises pauses that would make Pinter wince. There’s a definite hint of Frank Skinner in Matt’s overall rhythm too and what’s wrong with that? Style over substance can work in comedy but Matt has substance in buckets. Tightly crafted gags and routines whose punchlines steer well clear of the lazy or obvious are just another reason audiences love him. \nStand up comedy courses through Matt’s veins (he’s the son of renowned TV warm up man\, Bobby) and regularly writes for fellow comics\, television\, radio and social media campaigns. Currently supporting Ricky Gervais on tour\, Matt has also supported Harry Hill\, Clinton Baptiste and Soccer AM’s Lloyd Griffith. Come and see him before he’s filling stadiums. \n“Thoroughly enjoyable” Reginald D Hunter  “Excellent gags!” Harry Hill \nAlex Boardman cut his comedic teeth on the burgeoning Manchester scene with sets at the Frog & Bucket followed by an all nighter at The Hacienda! Family life has tempered the inner wild child but it’s certainly added to both the maturity and the relatability of his stand up. A gifted gag smith\, Alex writes for a lot of big names and TV shows including John Bishop\, A Question Of Sport and many we’re not allowed to say! \n“A great comic” Sarah Millican “Double funny” Shaun Ryder \nCurrently on a UK tour with his new show ‘Stuff And Nonsense‘\, Alun Cochrane is one of Britain’s funniest and most original comics\, Alun appeared on everything from Have I Got News For You to 8 Out Of 10 Cats and you can hear him every Saturday on Frank Skinner’s Radio show. \n“Big belly laughs” The Guardian “Master storyteller” Metro \nYour evening comes complete with Jules O’Brien. The comedians you see at Comedy @ The Lion & Swan\, Congleton are booked by Comedy In A Van.

Fully seated. 18+ We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. Sorry\, but we can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. Thanks \nAndrew Bird‘s fledgling steps into comedy began an under aged drinker in a Northampton pub\, eliciting laughter from ‘the lads’ in the tap room. \nAn unsuccessful stint at art collage was followed by a more successful stint at working in a factory but he really missed the tap room bantz. London called and\, once again\, he had the pub regulars laughing but was also performing short spots on The Big Smoke’s legendary open mic circuit. \nYears of hard graft up and down the country\, a multitude of Edinburgh appearnces and wrote on various TV shows menat he could now marry\, buy a car\, a house and even afford some children\, just in time for the worst recession in living memory. \nAll the above has forged his mildly grumpy\, slightly stressed and bemused style of performance which not only make him stand out from the comedy masses but will\, no doubt\, contribute to an untimely death. \nAndrew has written for Jason Manford\, Matt Lucas and Jon Richardson and provided tour suupport for Michael McIntyre\, Mickey Flanagan and Rob Rydon. \n“Comedy gold The Scotsman “Funny\, likeable and effortless”  Time Out    ‘Made me laugh every night’ Michael McIntyre \nJamie Hutchinson‘s horrible dating past\, humiliating anecdotes\, and perpetual singledom may sound more suited to a counselling session but\, in the hands of this naturally funny craftsman make for a painfully funny set. \nManc\, ginger and proud\, brace yourself for a full frontal comedic assault when Jamie unsheathes the mic form it’s stand. One liners\,  uncanny characterisations\, puns\, funny faces and clowning are all utilised to deadly effect in Jamie’s one man war on the gaps between laughter. \n“Simply phenomenal” Notts Comedy Review “Absolutely hilarious” Seann Walsh \nDean Coughlin’s comedy will stay with you as permanently as the tattoos he creates in his day job. \nCompere for the evening is  feminist\, leftie\, atheist\, polyamor\, activist and\, of course\, comedian; Kate Smurthwaite! \n“Fun\, energetic and full of ideas” John Cleese \nThe comedians you see at Comedy @ The Lion & Swan\, Congleton are booked by Comedy In A Van \n \n

Best known as a TV presenter it’s the arena of live\, stand up comedy where Stephen really shines. DESCRIPTION:Matt Bragg\, Andrew O’Neill\, Steve Hili and MC Martin Mor all at Heaton Moor. Scroll down for comedians’ details.\n\nActs subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. We can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. Thanks!\n\nStrolling onto stage like a missing Gallagher brother\, Oxfordshire’s Matt Bragg first picked up a mic in 2015 and quickly found his distinctive style. Tightly crafted gags and routines whose punchlines steer well clear of the lazy or obvious are just another reason audiences love him.\n\nStand up comedy courses through Matt’s veins (he’s the son of renowned TV warm up man\, Bobby) and regularly writes for fellow comics\, television\, radio and social media campaigns. Currently supporting Ricky Gervais on tour\, Matt has also supported Harry Hill\, Clinton Baptiste and Soccer AM’s Lloyd Griffith. Come and see him before he’s filling stadiums.\n\n“Thoroughly enjoyable” Reginald D Hunter  “Excellent gags!” Harry Hill \n  A very busy person is Andrew O’Neill. Yeah\, they are an award-winning comedian\, but they also find time to be an accomplished musician\, best-selling author\, Victoriana obsessive\, co-writer and star of Radio 4’s occult sitcom Damned Andrew! Andrew describes themself as a psychedelic non-binary whirlwind\, combining surrealism\, polemic and good old-fashioned stagecraft to produce uniquely counter-cultural stand-up and we agree that they pretty much do what it says on the tin. We would also like to add that Andrew is funny. Very\, very funny.\n\nThere’s nothing Andrew loves more than taking a new show to the Edinburgh Fringe then touring it to the faithful. This all started with ‘ Winston Churchill Was Jack The Ripper’ right up to his latest offering; ‘‘We Are Not In the Least Afraid of Ruins; We Carry a New World in Our Hearts”\n\nAs a founder member of steampunk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing and author of the bestselling A History Of Heavy Metal\, Andrew’s a shoe in for music festival comedy stages and Glastonbury\, Download\, Leeds and Reading\, Bloodstock\, Latitude\, V-Fest have all been treated to Andrewisms and Andrew once supported the Kaiser Chiefs!\n\nBut what about the telly\, we hear you ask? Well\, there’s everything from Never Mind The Buzzcocks\, Saxondale\, 50 Years Of Rock Excess\, and Good News Week.\n\nOne of our most distinctive and original comedic performers. Andrew O’Neill is a national treasure in the making.\n\n‘Hitting new heights of comedic brilliance.’ Time Out  ‘His finely-tuned jokes are a joy to behold.’ Metro\n\nThe show comes complete with Steve Hili and MC Martin Mor\n\nThe Heatons Comedy Evening is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van
