Now at the Hough End Centre on Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton Comedy Club started life as Laugh Local at Chorlton Irish Club in 2012. Hosted by resident compere Justin Moorhouse, the night played host to everyone from John Bishop to Sarah Millican to aspring comedians who are now lost to the mists of time. We took over the booking of the comedians a couple of years later then took on the whole kaboodle a year after that. Due to a combination of Covid and the Irish Club being redeveloped, we upped sticks in 2021 and moved down the road to our new, permanent home at The Hough End Centre on Mauldeth Road West. We are still on the first Friday of the month, still booking the very funniest comedians the English language has to offer and Justin still pops in to compere. We also boast some of Chorlton’s most competitive bar prices so leaving the car in what could be Manchester’ safest car park (the GMP Police Dog Unit is next door!) may well be very good advice!
