Scroll down for details on the comedians. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK  \n Please arrive in plenty of time. The bar temporarily closes at 8.30pm until the first interval. Doors open at 7.30pm Acts subject to change. 18+ Fully seated. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. Sorry but we can only refund or reallocate in event of the show being cancelled . Thanks!\n \nA regular on BBC One’s Live At The Apollo\, Tez Ilyas is also known for Man Like Mobeen (BBC Three) and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Tez has also appeared on everything from The One Show to The News Quiz and\, of course\, his very own The Tez O’Clock Show on Channel 4. A phenomenally funny comedian who refuses to shy away from trickier subjects yet never forgets that the laughs need to come thick and fast. \n★★★★★ Mirror ★★★★ The Times ★★★★ The Telegraph ★★★★ Sunday Times \nJo Caulfield. was born in Wales to Irish parents and brought up in Derbyshire\, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. She grew up believing the East Midlands was her oyster. Jo spent many years honing her skills as a waitress and was frequently fired for arguing with customers. \n“I wasn’t a very good waitress. I was a real maverick. I played by my own rules. I took orders from no one.” \nJo moved to London at 17 to sing and play drums in a Rockabilly band. This was an unusual decision as Jo can neither sing nor play drums. To misquote the Human League\, Jo was working in an Italian Restaurant when she found herself drunkenly entering an open mic competition. Although she hadn’t prepared anything and could hardly stand\, let alone speak\, Jo won the competition and was asked back the following week… \nAlthough best known for her legendary one-woman shows Jo has also won a BAFTA as Graham Norton’s head writer and TV appearances include: Mock The Week\, Have I Got News For You\, Never Mind The Buzzcocks\, Saturday Night Live\, The Comedy Store\, The Comedian’s Comedian\, Dawn French’s Girls Who Do Comedy\, The Stand Up Show and World Stand’s Up. \n“One of the finest” The Observer   “Quite simply\, a damn funny woman” The Scotsman \nAlun Cochrane has popped up on everything from Have I Got News For You to 8 Out Of 10 Cats to Frank Skinner’s Absolute Radio show. Expanding life’s more mundane details into eye wettingly funny routine has been his mainstay for many a year.  Whether it’s crisp packet opening etiquette or the buddy bench at your kids’ school\, Alun has done all the thinking for you.  Later years have seen him take on modern life’s more contentious topics but don’t worry\, laughter is awlays first and foremost and\, if you have been left with a little bit to think about\, then all the better. \n“Big belly laughs” The Guardian “Master storyteller” Metro \nEdd Hedges (★★★★ ★ Student Newspaper) takes the middle spot. \n Chorlton Comedy Club  in May 2026 comes complete with Charlie Ashton (“Wickedly accomplished… …and the gags come at such a relentless rate’ Rolling Stone) Chorlton Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \nChorlton Comedy Club\, Manchester Friday 1 May 2026 with Tez Ilyas\, Jo Caulfield\, Edd Hedges & MC Alun Cochrane (C) Comedy In A Van \n  \n

SUMMARY:Chorlton Comedy Club\, Manchester March 2026
DESCRIPTION:Chorlton Comedy Club in March 2026 with Steve Gribbin (‘A highly refreshing and original comic. Hilarious!’ The Scotsman)\, Bethany Black ( “A great comedy mind” British Comedy Guide)\, Creatures Comedian Of The Year 2025 Charlie Ashton and your compere\, Ben van der Velde (“The perfect comedy club host” Huffington Post) all at Hough End Centre\, Chorlton\, Manchester. Scroll down for details on the comedians. \nPlease arrive in plenty of time. Thanks! \nSteve Gribbin first took to the stage at the tender age of 13. He was cruelly beaten into third place by a ventriloquist and a Donny Osmond impersonator. By his late teens\, Steve was fifty per cent of comedy duo Skint Video just as something called ‘alternative comedy’ was beginning to infuriate the tabloids..\nAll good things come to an end and Skint Video was no different. Steve got custody of the guitar and metamorphosised into the comedy circuit’s most prolific and productive performer. \n‘A highly refreshing and original comic. Hilarious!’ The Scotsman ‘Pulls it off with real aplomb.’ The Independent \nWell\, where do we start when it comes to Bethany Black? We could tell you that Chorley’s funniest daughter is Britain’s only goth\, lesbian\, transsexual comedian but that was fully covered in her debut show – ‘Beth Becomes Her’. \nAs well as making people laugh a lot\, Beth was spotted by Russell T Davis and played ‘Helen’ in Channel 4 series’ Cucumber\, Banana and Tofu. This is all well and good but just how funny is she? Oh\, don’t worry about that as the answer is ‘very’. Awards include winning the 2020 Joe Comedy Award and Bethany is British Comedy Guide recommended. \n“Laughing at every other word” ★★★★★ LGBT Arts Review “A great comedy mind” British Comedy Guide \nBen Van der Velde has spread joy and nonsense to all four corners of the British Isles\, as well as Greece\, Denmark\, Sweden\, Switzerland\, Estonia\, Latvia\, Finland and Norway. \nA regular at The Comedy Store\, Komedia and The Glee\, Ben also hosts festival stages for Bestival\, Festival No.6\, End of the Road and Sunday Papers Live and doing audience warm-up for Deal Or No Deal. \nBen has also performed a voodoo re-marriage ceremony(!)\, founded the Church of the Holy Kazoo with comedy legend Mark Thomas\, walked the entire London Underground network to raise money for The Refugee Council\, hosted a comedy tour of the FIFA Museum in Zurich and even took part in experiments at The Royal Society that revealed him to have the most infectious laugh of any human\, rat or monkey. \n“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up\, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post \n“Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue.” Edinburgh Festivals Magazine \n“On flights of fancy\, he pushes ideas to extremes and displays a crackling\, spontaneous energy in which we’re swept up.” Fest \nChorlton Comedy Club in March 2026 comes complete with Charlie Ashton Chorlton Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \nChorlton Comedy Club\, Manchester Friday 6 March 2026 Steve Gribbin\, Bethany Black\, Charlie Ashton\, MC Ben van der Velde (C) Comedy In A Van \n  \n

SUMMARY:Chorlton Comedy Club\, Manchester
DESCRIPTION: Chorlton Comedy Club  in December with Live At The Apollo’s  Ian Stone (‘Seriously funny’ The Guardian)\,Paul McCaffrey (Live At The Apollo\, Stand Up Central etc)\,Oliver Bowler and your compere\, Paul Pirie (‘Hilarious’ The Scotsman) all at  Hough End Centre\, Chorlton\, Manchester. Scroll down for details on the comedians. \n Please arrive in plenty of time. Thanks!\n \nIf you’re a fan of Mock The Week or 5 Live’s Fighting Talk then Ian Stone will have already made you laugh. This north London\, working class\, Jewish comedian has an easy-going manner that endears him to any crowd. \nHe has also achieved a couple of ‘firsts’\, first Brit comic to gig in Moscow and first on the Mumbai Comedy Store too. Firsts are all well and good but he also has a pretty impressive ‘last’ when he was booked for the QE2’s last trip across the Atlantic. \nHe’s also been pretty impressive as an author. ‘To Be Somebody’ tells of his love of post punk band The Jam\, even gaining approval from front man Paul Weller; ‘I really liked this book. I’d forgotten how shit it was in the seventies’ \nThe Independent newspaper declared Ian to be amongst the top ten stand up comedians in Britain and the rest of the press have been pretty impressed too! \n“Seriously funny” The Guardian      “Ultimately\, it’s the sheer quantity of funny material that impresses” The List \n“Stone’s beautifully crafted stories\, peppered with gags and asides were hilarious throughout.” Chortle \nPaul McCaffrey’s numerous TV appearances include Live at the Apollo\, Russell Howard’s Good News\, Impractical Jokers UK and Stand Up Central. One of the most in-demand club headliners and support act for the biggest names in comedy including Kevin Bridges and Sean Lock. Whether it’s an enormous arena the cosy confines of a pub back room\, McCaffrey’s slightly cynical and completely baffled take on modern life wows the crowd every time. Come and see why! \n‘Gut-bustlingly hilarious‘ GQ Magazine ‘Fucking funny‘ Frank Skinner ‘Born to be a comic’ The Scotsman \nOnce described as “Spewing out one-liners like he had just scoffed a dodgy prawn”\, Scotland’s Paul Pirie‘s brand of high energy lunacy puts him very firmly in the Robin Williams school of comedic performance. Everyday tales of domestic mishap are vividly brought to life by Pirie’s manic antics. Be prepared for the unexpected and some very silly noises too. \n“Hilarious rubber-faced clown” The Scotsman \nYour evening is complete with Oliver Bowler  Chorlton Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \nIan Stone\, Paul McCaffrey\, Oliver Bowler & MC Paul Pirie at Chorlton Comedy Club\, Manchester Friday 5 December 2025 (C) Comedy In A Van

Thanks!\n \nEntertaining the metropolitan elites at London’s Soho theatre or the Edinburgh Fringe is one thing but keeping baying crowds of UK and US squaddies happy requires a slightly different skill set! In fact\, keeping them so happy you get asked back three times is the hallmark of a solid comic at the very top of their game and that sums up the wondrously monikered Garrett Millerick perfectly! \nCo-host of hit podcast Laughable (alongside Jayde Adams and Red Richardson)\, Garrett has also performed his stand up on hit US talk show Conan as well as all the usual venues\, tours and support slots to be expected from a comedian this good. \nAcerbic yet delightful\, grumpy but both hilarious and passionate. We really can’t recommend Garrett Millerick to you enough. \n“Brilliant.” ★★★★★ Three Weeks “Wonderfully funny.” ★★★★ The Times “A unique joy.” ★★★★ The List \nNow best known as co-host of the Have A Word podcast\, Dan Nightingale is widely regarded as one of the best performers working on the comedy circuit today. Mixing fiendishly accurate observation with energetic characterisations and killer punch lines\, his comedy is original\, playful\, intelligent\, poignant and exciting; sometimes ridiculous… but always hilarious. \n‘Funny as hell’ Leicester Mercury ‘Enthusiastically charming albeit self-deprecating storyteller’ ★★★★★ Three Weeks \nA dozen years since his BBC New Comedy Award win\, things have been going rather well for Steve Bugeja ( ‘Boo-Jay_Ah‘ seeing as you asked). His jokes and stories have taken him right around the globe with Melbourne\, Australia being a particular hot spot for Bugeja fans. Steve’s no stranger to the small screen either with appearances from The Russell Howard Hour to Love Island: Aftersun and a couple of appearances on Australian telly. Very much in demand behind the scenes\, he’s head writer for Iain Stirling’s CelebAbility and co-create ITV sitcom Buffering.  Fun fact: Steve’s cousin was the prime minster of Malta. \n“an eye for original comic detail that’s all his own.” Guardian  “Plentiful jokes and compelling storytelling” Scotsman \nYour evening is complete with Ant Dewson a comedian\, mediocre piano player and singer of silly songs.
