SUMMARY:Copmanthorpe Carnival Comedy Night
DESCRIPTION:Comedy returns to Copmanthorpe Carnival in 2025 with Rob Mulholland (★★★★★ Joe.co.uk )\, Jo Caulfield (“One of the finest” The Observer)\, Ryan Kenny and MC Alex Boardman (‘A great comic’ Sarah Millican) at Copmanthorpe Carnival‘s Winter Comedy Night! Scroll down for comedians details. \nActs subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. Thanks! \nA former English Comedian Of The Year\, 6’7″ Yorkshireman Rob Mulholland is also one half of smash hit podcast Dead Men Talking alongside partner in crime\, Freddy Quinne. As a stand up his intricately woven\, gag-packed stories have delighted audiences up and down the UK but he seems to have divided the critics; “Clever\, layered and acutely observed” ★★★★★ according to Joe.co.uk \, “Hilarious” by Broadway Baby and “Mulholland’s your man” by comedy website Chortle. He’s also been described as “Nasty\, offensive and dangerous” by National Student so take your pick! \n‘A man-and-mic comedian at the peak of his powers’ British Comedy Guide \n‘If you only go see one comedian this month\, make it Rob Mulholland.‘ The Skinny \nJo Caulfield. This Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You regular was born in Wales to Irish parents and brought up in Derbyshire\, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. She grew up believing the East Midlands was her oyster. Jo spent many years honing her skills as a waitress and was frequently fired for arguing with customers. \n“I wasn’t a very good waitress. I was a real maverick. I played by my own rules. I took orders from no one.” \nJo moved to London at 17 to sing and play drums in a Rockabilly band. This was an unusual decision as Jo can neither sing nor play drums. To misquote the Human League\, Jo was working in an Italian Restaurant when she found herself drunkenly entering an open mic competition. Although she hadn’t prepared anything and could hardly stand\, let alone speak\, Jo won the competition and was asked back the following week… \nAlthough best known for her legendary one-woman shows Jo has also won a BAFTA as Graham Norton’s head writer and TV appearances include: Never Mind The Buzzcocks\, Saturday Night Live\, The Comedy Store\, The Comedian’s Comedian\, Dawn French’s Girls Who Do Comedy\, The Stand Up Show and World Stand’s Up. \n“One of the finest” The Observer   “Quite simply\, a damn funny woman” The Scotsman \nMC Alex Boardman cut his comedic teeth on the burgeoning Manchester scene with sets at the Frog & Bucket often followed by an all nighter at The Hacienda! Family life may have tempered the inner wild child but it’s certainly added to both the maturity and the relatability of his stand up. A gifted gag smith\, Alex writes for a lot of big names and TV shows including John Bishop\, A Question Of Sport and many we’re not allowed to say! \n“A great comic” Sarah Millican “Double funny” Shaun Ryder \nYour show comes complete with Ryan Kenny. Comedy @ Copmanthorpe Carnival is booked by Comedy In A Van \nCopmanthorpe Carnival Comedy Night with Rob Mulholland\, Jo Caulfield\, Ryan Kenny & MC Alex Boardman.
