SUMMARY:Didsbury Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Andrew O’Neill\, Matt Bragg\, TBC\, MC Mick Ferry at Didsbury Comedy Club. Scroll down for comedians’ details. \n  \nActs subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. We can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. Thanks! \n  \nA very busy person is Andrew O’Neill. Yeah\, they are an award-winning comedian\, but they also find time to be an accomplished musician\, best-selling author\, Victoriana obsessive\, co-writer and star of Radio 4’s occult sitcom Damned Andrew! \nAndrew describes themself as a psychedelic non-binary whirlwind\, combining surrealism\, polemic and good old-fashioned stagecraft to produce uniquely counter-cultural stand-up and we agree that they pretty much do what it says on the tin. We would also like to add that Andrew is funny. Very\, very funny. \n  \nThere’s nothing Andrew loves more than taking a new show to the Edinburgh Fringe then touring it to the faithful. This all started with ‘ Winston Churchill Was Jack The Ripper‘ right up to his latest offering; ”We Are Not In the Least Afraid of Ruins; We Carry a New World in Our Hearts” . \n  \nAs a founder member of steampunk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing and author of the bestselling A History Of Heavy Metal\, Andrew’s a shoe in for music festival comedy stages and Glastonbury\, Download\, Leeds and Reading\, Bloodstock\, Latitude\, V-Fest have all been treated to Andrewisms and they once supported the Kaiser Chiefs! \n  \nBut what about the telly\, we hear you ask? Well\, there’s everything from Never Mind The Buzzcocks\, Saxondale\, 50 Years Of Rock Excess\, and Good News Week. \n  \nOne of our most distinctive and original comedic performers. Andrew O’Neill is a national treasure in the making. \n  \n‘Hitting new heights of comedic brilliance.’ Time Out  ‘His finely-tuned jokes are a joy to behold.’ Metro \n  \nStrolling onto stage like a missing Gallagher brother\, Oxfordshire’s Matt Bragg first picked up a mic in 2015 and quickly found his distinctive style. Matt’s ultra laid back delivery makes everything look oh so easy and his timing utilises pauses that would make Pinter wince. There’s a definite hint of Frank Skinner in Matt’s overall rhythm too and what’s wrong with that? \n  \nStyle over substance can work in comedy but Matt has substance in buckets. Tightly crafted gags and routines whose punchlines steer well clear of the lazy or obvious are just another reason audiences love him. \n  \nStand up comedy courses through Matt’s veins (he’s the son of renowned TV warm up man\, Bobby) and regularly writes for fellow comics\, television\, radio and social media campaigns. \n  \nCurrently supporting Ricky Gervais on tour\, Matt has also supported Harry Hill\, Clinton Baptiste and Soccer AM’s Lloyd Griffith. \nCome and see him before he’s filling stadiums. \n  \n“Thoroughly enjoyable” Reginald D Hunter  “Excellent gags!” Harry Hill  “Very good. Nice style\, great jokes” Justin Moorhouse \n  \nMick Ferry returns to compere too\, a man who needs no introduction to Manchester or London Comedy Store regulars but\, if you have yet to have had the pleasure\, he is\, quite simply\, the best MC working in the UK today. \nWhether he’s running with a scatterbrained idea\, an audience suggestion or dipping into his extensive mental files of absolute\, top drawer gags and routines\, the end result is a barrage of laughter from a very happy audience and that is what we are all about. \n  \n“See him or regret it” John Bishop“Absolute legend” Jason Manford ★★★★★ Mirror \n  \nDidsbury Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \n  \n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Didsbury Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Bethany Black\, Adam Rowe\, Kieran Lawless\, MC Hayley Ellis at Didsbury Comedy Club. Scroll down for comedians’ details. \nActs subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. We can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. Thanks! \nWell\, where do we start when it comes to Bethany Black? We could tell you that Chorley’s funniest daughter is Britain’s only goth\, lesbian\, transsexual comedian but that was fully covered in her debut show ‘Beth Becomes Her’. \nAs well as making people laugh a lot\, Beth was spotted by Russell T Davis and played ‘Helen’ in Channel 4 series’ Cucumber\, Banana and Tofu. \nWe could also tell you Beth is a bit of nerd and something of a Doctor Who obsessive but\, how many Whovians can claim to have actually appeared in the show? Beth did in 2015 when she played 474. \nThis is all well and good but just how funny is she? Oh\, don’t worry about that as the answer is ‘very’. Awards include winnning the 2020 Joe.co.uk comedy award and is British Comedy Guide recommended. \n“A great comedy mind” British Comedy Guide ★★★★ Fest Mag. \n“I went for an hour laughing at every other word” ★★★★★ LGBT Arts Review. \n“You’re onto a winner with Bethany.” ★★★★ Funny Women \nWidely regarded as one of the most exciting\, young comics in the world; Adam Rowe has risen from a prodigious newcomer to an international headline act\, since his debut in 2010. He is one of the most sought after acts for all of The UK’s biggest comedy clubs & festivals\, whilst he has also performed in & headlined clubs in The Middle East & The United States. \nHis natural\, laid back persona combined with brutally honest\, opinionated stand-up and his phenomenal ad-libbing ability make each of his performances unique\, gloriously unpredictable and\, most importantly\, always hilarious. \nAdam has opened for Andrew Schulz\, Jason Manford and was hand-picked to support Bill Burr on the UK leg of his 2019 tour “50”\, including two nights at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London. \nHe’s completed three solo tours; ‘Unbearable’ (2017) and ‘Undeniable’ (2018)\, both of which sold out dates all over the UK and in 2019 he will take his third solo tour ‘Pinnacle’ on the road\, before taping this show as an hour-long special in 2020. \nIn 2020 Adam launched the Have a Word podcast which has become hugely popular and released his debut stand up special ‘Club Comic’ on YouTube. He has racked up over 50 million views of his stand up online across various platforms such as his YouTube channel\, his social media pages and viral-sharing pages such as ‘LadBible’\, ‘UniLad’ and ‘Live At Hot Water Comedy Club’. \nRidiculously good” ★★★★★ Herald“Roars of laughter” Telegraph“A masterclass” ★★★★★ Entertainment Focus \nKieran Lawless and MC Hayley Ellis complete another laugh packed evening. \nDidsbury Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Didsbury Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Tez Ilyas\, Phil Nichol\, Tegan Marlow\, MC Mick Ferry at Didsbury Comedy Club. Thanks! \nTez Ilyas! Within a few years of first picking up a microphone this former civil servant won the BBC New Comedy Award and embarked on his first national tour in 2017 – TEZ Talks. Based on the popular TED Talks the show dispelled myths about British Muslims and\, despite the somewhat ambitious topic\, Ilyas worked his magic\, stormed the Edinburgh Fringe\, sold out an extended London theatre run and saw TEZ Talks turned into a Radio 4 series. \nA familiar face on our screens\, Tez is probably best known for Tez Ilyas’ Christmas (Sky Arts)\, Man Like Mobeen (BBC Three) but has also appeared on everything from The One Show to The News Quiz and\, of course\, his very own The Tez O’Clock Show on Channel 4. \nA phenomenally funny comedian who refuses to shy away from trickier subjects yet never forgets that the laughs need to come thick and fast. \n★★★★★ Mirror ★★★★ The Times ★★★★ The Telegraph ★★★★ Sunday Times \n“Blackburn-born Ilyas has a slickness more reminiscent of US comics\, and the gags to back it up\, though his most prized asset could yet be his bold\, subversive streak”  The Guardian \n“Smart\, subversive comedy with pin-sharp observations.” The Herald \nPhil Nichol is something of a legend on the comedy circuit. He has won the ‘main comedy award at the Edinburgh Fringe (after two previous nominations) which is the comedy equivalent of the Nobel Prize \nPhil is an energetic and exciting performer with an unquenchable thirst to break boundaries and innovate with his work. His skill as an improviser whether it be musical\, comedy or straight is unparalleled. With a surreal edge to some of his mischievous rantings Nichol always brings something new to the stage\, his keen sense of fun and eye for the shocking and absurd has cemented his position as one of the very best comedians working today. \n“Riotously funny” Sunday Telegraph ★★★★★ The Scotsman   “Cripplingly funny.” Three Weeks \nMC for the evening is Mick Ferry\, who needs no introduction to Manchester or London Comedy Store regulars but\, if you have yet to have had the pleasure\, he is\, quite simply\, the best MC working in the UK today. \nWhether he’s running with a scatterbrained idea\, an audience suggestion or dipping into his extensive mental files of absolute\, top drawer gags and routines\, the end result is a barrage of laughter from a very happy audience and that is what we are all about. \n“See him or regret it” John Bishop  “Absolute legend” Jason Manford  ★★★★★ Mirror \nDidsbury Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \n \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:Didsbury Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Danny Ward\, Daliso Chaponda\, Seeta Wrightson and MC Liam Pickford at Didsbury Comedy Club. Thanks! Didsbury Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \nAs seen on BT Sports DIY Pundit\, Danny Ward has an affably manic style that certainly wins over the crowds. It’s everyday things that fascinate Danny and he’s also a big fan of charity shop tat. If you have ever wondered how to plunge the entire national Wetherspoon’s chain into chaos then Danny has the answer which is as hilarious as it is simple. Whether he’s riffing off the audience or having his entire performance dictated by his FiloFax (ask your mum)\, Danny is a solid and unique comedian who seriously beefs up any comedy night. \n“Worked brilliantly”. Bournemouth Echo  “Slick\, quick\, and packed with funny” ★★★★ Three Weeks \nFrom Malawi to Britain via Canada\, former refugee Daliso Chaponda has appeared on everything from QI to Britain’s Got Talent\, from the Royal Variety Performance to his own\, critically acclaimed Radio 4 series. A bold\, fearless and energetic performer who nearly became a vicar\, but that’s a different story for another time… \n“Had the audience in stitches” The Sun  ‘An expert entertainer.’ The Guardian \nIf Jack Dee and Morrissey had a kid then Liam Pickford is who they would call son. Liam mixes material and punchlines with excitingly unpredictable audience interaction\, a hint of ‘whimsy’ and clever observations all delivered in a wonderfully unenthusiastic\, even grumpy style. \n“Funny bones\, and a scatter gun mind that doesn’t quite work like anybody else’s.” Chortle \nThe show is rounded off with newer act Seeta Wrightson who takes the middle spot

DESCRIPTION:Noel James\, Scott Bennett\, Natalie Husdan and MC Freddy Quinne at Didsbury Comedy Club. Thanks! Didsbury Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van \n  Noel James taught English as a second language (He’s from Swansea!) until deciding to give stand up comedy a go in the Nineties. Since then\, Noel has appeared at comedy clubs up and down this fair isle and as far away as Berlin and South Africa. Noel has popped up regularly on the telly\, as both writer and performer and even picked up a Rose of Montreaux nomination on the way. Although best known for deft one-liners\, Noel isn’t afraid to pull a few props out or even whip out his guitar. A skilled\, clever and bona fide free spirit who commits completely to the crowd. \n“A combination of Milton Jones and Eddie Izzard” Shrewsbury Star       “The funniest joke I’ve ever heard” The Guardian \nNow touring in his own right\, Yorkshireman Scott Bennett owes a certain amount of his success to Covid! As lockdown decimated the UK entertainment industry Scott refused to cave in and Stand Up From The Shed was born. Every week\, Scott wrote and performed a topical comedy show that was live streamed from (you guessed it) his garden shed! This was quickly picked up by BBC News\, Sky News and Five Live\, further increasing Scott’s fanbase. \nThe return to normality has been even better for Scott. He made his debut appearance on BBC’s Live At The Apollo\, numerous appearances on Radio 4\, toured with John Bishop and won the coveted Best UK Stand Up 2021 award! 2022 saw Scott’s latest tour show ‘Great Scott’ take to the roads of the United Kingdom. \n“A very funny man” Rob Brydon ★★★★ Chortle ★★★★ TV Bomb \nFreddy Quinne is an award-winning comedian from Preston\, Lancashire. He absolutely hates writing about himself in the third person but needs to fill out this part of his website because sometimes promoters will use these bios and copy and paste them into their own comedy events when he is on. Including us. We are going to add that he is half-Manx\, the man behind the Pigoted podcast and a very safe pair of compering hands. \nCheshire’s Natalie Husdan completes the bill \nDidsbury Comedy Club is booked\, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van   Any questions? Except one student reviewer who labelled him “Nasty\, offensive and dangerous” so you might want to give this show a miss if you are a reviewer from National Student. \nActs subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary\, swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress or people might assume you’re a bit of a dick.
