Thanks \nAndrew Bird‘s fledgling steps into comedy began an under aged drinker in a Northampton pub\, eliciting laughter from ‘the lads’ in the tap room.  \nAn unsuccessful stint at art collage was followed by a more successful stint at working in a factory but he really missed the tap room bantz. London called and\, once again\, he had the pub regulars laughing but was also performing short spots on The Big Smoke’s legendary open mic circuit.  \nYears of hard graft up and down the country\, a multitude of Edinburgh appearnces and wrote on various TV shows menat he could now marry\, buy a car\, a house and even afford some children\, just in time for the worst recession in living memory.  \nAll the above has forged his mildly grumpy\, slightly stressed and bemused style of performance which not only make him stand out from the comedy masses but will\, no doubt\, contribute to an untimely death. \nAndrew has written for Jason Manford\, Matt Lucas and Jon Richardson and provided tour suupport for Michael McIntyre\, Mickey Flanagan and Rob Rydon. \n“Comedy gold The Scotsman “Funny\, likeable and effortless”  Time Out    ‘Made me laugh every night’ Michael McIntyre \nJamie Hutchinson‘s horrible dating past\, humiliating anecdotes\, and perpetual singledom may sound more suited to a counselling session but\, in the hands of this naturally funny craftsman make for a painfully funny set. \nManc\, ginger and proud\, brace yourself for a full frontal comedic assault when Jamie unsheathes the mic form it’s stand. As well as being a much in demand comedian\, he has penned several books on his first love of football including ‘Tear Gas And Ticket Touts’ and the ‘Hooligan’ series (alongside brother Dougie). Eddy is also an accomplished actor who has popped up in everything from Casualty to Absolutely Fabulous. He was cruelly beaten into third place by a ventriloquist and a Donny Osmond impersonator. You can’t keep a good man down though and Steve’s love of making people laugh rivals that of his affections for Liverpool FC and Elvis Costello.  \n  By his late teens\, Steve was fifty per cent of comedy duo Skint Video just as something called ‘alternative comedy’ was beginning to infuriate the tabloids.. The next few years became a blur of festivals\, student unions\, miners benefits\, appearances at Britain’s first dedicated comedy clubs and even on the telly! Proper telly. When it had four channels. Saturday Night Live\, The Mary Whitehouse Experience and even their own Radio One show.  \nAll good things come to an end and Skint Video was no different. Steve got custody of the guitar and metamorphosised into the comedy circuit’s most prolific and productive performer.  \nSteve puts absolutely everything he has got into every single gig he does. Sweat drips as he hammers out short\, sharp satirical songs that strike chords throughout the room. If it’s in the news\, he’s written something rapturously funny about it\, slaughtering sacred cows with deft musicianship and crowd slaying wit.  \nNo one can count themselves as a true comedy fan until they have seen Steve Gribbin. A bulletproof booking\, whether it’s Glastonbury or The Comedy Store\, Steve will more than do the job and we are proud to call ourselves fans.  \n‘A highly refreshing and original comic with a gift for sharp observations and up-to-the-minute political asides. He has won the ‘main comedy award at the Edinburgh Fringe (after two previous nominations) which is the comedy equivalent of the Nobel Prize. \nPhil is an energetic and exciting performer with an unquenchable thirst to break boundaries and innovate with his work. His skill as an improviser whether it be musical\, comedy or straight is unparalleled. With a surreal edge to some of his mischievous rantings Nichol always brings something new to the stage\, his keen sense of fun and eye for the shocking and absurd has cemented his position as one of the best comedians on the circuit today. \n“Riotously funny” Sunday Telegraph “Cripplingly funny.” Three Weeks “Unflappable\, luminous talent” The List \nJustin Moorhouse has appeared in everything from Celebrity Mastermind to Coronation Street\, from QI to Phoenix Nights. It’s not all off the cuff stuff though; there are decades of class routines\, observations and bankable gags in reserve too. One of the very best. \nOnce famously described as “Spewing out one-liners like he had just scoffed a dodgy prawn” by the Daily Record\, Aberdonian Paul Pirie‘s brand of high energy lunacy puts him very firmly in the Robin Williams school of comedic performance. Everyday tales of domestic mishap are vividly brought to life by Pirie’s manic antics. Be prepared for the unexpected and some very silly noises too. \nToronto’s Allyson June Smith gave up her teaching job and headed for these shores a fair few years ago now.
