First Thursday Comedy @ The Met, Bury

Steve Gribbin, Dan Tiernan, Catherine Young and MC Harry Stachini all at The Bury Met! Please scroll down for comedians’ details.

Acts subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. We can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. Thanks!

Steve Gribbin first took to the stage at the tender age of 13. He was cruelly beaten into third place by a ventriloquist and a Donny Osmond impersonator. You can’t keep a good man down though and Steve’s love of making people laugh rivals that of his affections for Liverpool FC and Elvis Costello. Steve puts absolutely everything he has got into every single gig he does. Sweat drips as he hammers out short, sharp satirical songs that strike chords throughout the room. If it’s in the news, he’s written something rapturously funny about it, slaughtering sacred cows with deft musicianship and crowd slaying wit. No one can count themselves as a true comedy fan until they have seen Steve Gribbin. A bulletproof booking, whether it’s Glastonbury or The Comedy Store, Steve will more than do the job and we are proud to call ourselves fans.

‘A highly refreshing and original comic. Hilarious!‘
The Scotsman‘Pulls it off with real aplomb.‘ The Independent

Manchester’s Dan Tiernan is making big waves on the circuit despite only being in his mid-twenties. Gay, dyspraxic and with enough energy to power the national grid, Dan draws on his unconventional and chaotic life for inspiration and will reduce you to tears of laughter. 2021 saw him named Break Through Act of the Year in the North West Comedy Awards, 2022 saw him win the BBC New Comedian Of The Year, British Comedian Of The Year, and, in January 2023, he became The Met Comedian Of The Year. Dan is going to be huge.

“Raucously entertaining”
The Guardian “Exhilarating performance… …a frenzy of laughter.” Chortle

Harry Stachini used to teach kids. Naughty kids. As in really, really naughty kids and, if you can make a success of that how difficult is a career as a stand up comedian?
This natural comedian, still of comparatively few summers, allows his natural warmth to carry hilarious tales and intricately spun stories with a skill usually only present in much more experienced comics.

Harry’s a grafter and his solid work ethic and reputation amongst both audiences and promoters make him the comedian to watch out for in the next year or so! An impressive easy-going style pulls off stand ups oldest trick of leaving us feeling we are chatting to a mate as he shares his distinctive outlook on the world, involves the audience and skilfully leads us into well-crafted scenarios, with expert delivery. When not making people laugh like drains Harry writes, acts and films short sketches and documentaries.

“Well observed characterisations and anecdotes”  The Skinny  “Audience in stitches with gags” Bedfordshire News
